Kal Madsen

Kal Madsen is from Los Angeles, California and has a  modern take on rockabilly, folk-rock, and story-telling music. His debut album was released on July 2019, produced by Andy Paley (Twilight Tunes), known for The Paley Brothers and for producing all the music for the sponge bob Squarepants cartoons. Music videos are in production with one already released for his first single “Filthy Rich” which can be found here with an article on Pure Grain Audio here. Another track from the album, “Alligator Bites” is regularly played on Sirius XM’s Underground Garage.

With influences like Johnny Cash, The Velvet Under Ground, and Leonard Cohen the album is made in light of 60’s-70’s music production. The album features ten tracks with themes such as road trips, love, and civil unrest. Listen for a story or two and to experience the carefully crafted production that succeeds in bringing back a refreshing mix of his inspirations.

He has a show on August 18th at The Mint La to celebrate the album release, and a music video for his song "Airhead Actress" is set to be released soon which was directed by Parker Love Bowling who was recently featured in the new Tarantino movie "Once upon a time in Hollywood."

The video also features Kansas Bowling, a popular underground filmmaker that was also in the Tarantino picture. They have more videos being filmed for the album, and more shows planned to celebrate the release. Find his music on all general streaming platforms today and stay tuned for his upcoming releases.
