Kal Madsen is from Los Angeles, California and has a modern take on rockabilly, folk-rock, and story-telling music. His debut album was released on July 2019, produced by Andy Paley (Twilight Tunes), known for The Paley Brothers and for producing all the music for the sponge bob Squarepants cartoons. Another track from the album, “Alligator Bites” is regularly played on Sirius XM’s Underground Garage.
With influences like Johnny Cash, The Velvet Under Ground, and Leonard Cohen the album is made in light of 60’s-70’s music production. The album features ten tracks with themes such as road trips, love, and civil unrest. He has a show on August 18th at The Mint La to celebrate the album release, and a music video for his song "Airhead Actress" is set to be released soon which was directed by Parker Love Bowling who was recently featured in the new Tarantino movie "Once upon a time in Hollywood."
